A very windy day in the desert between Arad and the Dead Sea with frequent sandstorms. The line of green trees mark a wadi, a river valley that only fills up after it rains upstream – then there are flash floods here.

WOW…that was quick. Impressed at how quickly and easily you made the switch. Love your new site…mazel tov!!!!
Stunning image. Love the colors..the strata of sand..and the hint of the wadi way down below. Wonderful landscape
Making myself comfortable at the new place :)
Seems like on my resolution (1280X1024) the photo is big enough to create a horizontal slide-bar.
Can send you a screen shot if you'd like.
Plus (I couldn't avoid checking, I'm professional QA engineer :D) the validations at the bottom of the screen show some W3 errors.
There.
And the photo is superb of course. Very primal scenery, looks like a "virgin" no-mans land. :)
Hmmm, I've no idea what a w3 error is… :)
Most of the footer text is taken from the PP template and I didn't edit it yet… Maybe that's where the errors are.
I'm still figuring out about the image resolutions- so thanks for the heads up. I'm used to WordPress where it's all done for you.
There's some work still to be done on add-ons etc – but I wanted to get it up and running so thanks for being beta-testers and QAs :)
Hey, I like the new site! Very nice layout — and I like that the photos are bigger (on my screen at least). This is a very different sort of photo for you, at least to my eyes. WHat a remarkable landscape! Looks like the moon (if there were trees there :-)
you'll have to let me know how you find it; i've been thinking of switching for a while now.
very nice shot to welcome us with, btw!
Marvelous image and the sky so beautifully sets off the color of the hills! Love the expanse of this and its ruggedness coupled with the warm colors. I can’t say enough about your color sense here – just wonderful. And yes the new site is terrific – it is as if you have opened up – expanded and are able to let your work breathe more freely.
Oh my…. I love it!! Welcome to Pixelpost!! You said you wanted the freedom to post larger images, and WOW, you have done that very well. I went to each page and things are working very well. Very attractive template. Perfect image for your new site, a large, expansive landscape. Great site. And thanks for the mention of my site on your about page. BTW, I also love your “We have moved†image… cute.
wonderful shoot. got to love the desert, so much in this vast nothingness
Me back.. About W3 – Between the RSS and Flickr links at the footer you have W3-XHTML and W3-CSS validation links.
In general, these are to check if you your "code" (Html/CSS) are W3C compliant. You can read about it on http://www.w3.org/ (quite boring staff I might add)
The better and "cleaner" the code – Less troubles with browser compatibility and better search engine optimization.
Is that a must? Of course not. It's always good to know your code is 100% perfect and meets the needed standard but it won't affect you (too much) if there are few errors (of course, depends on what errors.. )
Hope it helps a bit.
Looks like a great shot but I cannot see the whole thing (using latest stable version of FireFox). Seems like there's extra space on the left side, but it pushes everything over to the right and I can't even scroll over there.
It'll take a few days to get the kinks out.
One thing you may find very helpful is the following site. You enter your URL there and in a few minutes you'll have screen shots from all kinds of browser/os/resolution combinations:

great, expansive shot cat. and, the new site looks great!
Impressive desert landscape. We can feel that there is lot's of sand in the air.
Thanks everyone for your comments.
On the technical side…
@Dustin – hmm, thanks – I don't understand why it's doing that thing with the space on the left. Seems to be the template and not specifically the image size. I'm still figuring out the whole image size deal and I'll try uploading smaller ones.
@Ilan – thanks – I didn't know that! I removed the "validation links" and set the bug to "resolved and stable" ;)
Awesome, cat: great vistas to open the new site with! It all looks splendid :-)
Wow, awesome view, would like to visit such a magnificent place, even though it looks a bit dry :) beautifully document of a beautiful landscape.
I wont say too much about validation and such, except that Ilans comment got me to check my site… all good now ;)
And the image is shifted to the right a bit, rather than being centered.
you had a good idea to take a photograph when the sky is not blue, but stormy.. its changes every things..
Beautiful.. i love desert..
