Tel Aviv beach life

I’ve been working very hard lately with the prospect of more to come (I’m not really complaining – I’m lucky enough to enjoy my work) but in an attempt to clear my head I went for an early walk on the beach this morning. It’s the best time to go, since it’s still very warm but it is not crowded with tourists. I made this tiny film.
jaffa
A couple of pics from Jaffa. This is inside the Container restaurant and bar that opened a few months ago in the Jaffa port and well worth going to on Friday or Saturday morning for their brunches and the general ambience of the place and the port. Jaffa is one of the oldest ports in the world and is famous in Greek mythology as being the place where Andromeda was tied to a rock to be devoured by a sea monster, and was rescued by Perseus. It’s also the place from which Jonah set sail and was swallowed by a “big fish” (not a whale – that’s a mistranslation from Hebrew). The port is used by fishermen and you can buy fresh fish from them.
